Business Engagement Manager - Green Capital

The Total Environment Centre (TEC) is seeking a person who wants to make a difference in a job providing great satisfaction and potential for achievement in environmental sustainability. Green Capital is TEC’s program focussing on reducing the environmental footprint of business – the longest running business sustainability program in Australia, run by an NGO.

Our business programs are an integrated part of TEC’s environment protection campaigns expanding its reach and highlighting NGO and sustainability thinking. The program is unique in that it brings together NGOs, government and businesses to advance the sustainability agenda in Australia. It undertakes research; holds major and small events to raise the profile of current issues; produces reports and policy proposals and also has a corporate training component.

Job summary
The Business Engagement Manager is responsible for helping to develop and grow the Green Capital program, both financially and in terms of its impact on business sustainability. It is responsible for maintaining and seeking financial support for Green Capital; managing relationships and relevant policy discussions with business and government; and supervising research projects and staff.

This role works with TEC’s executive director, Green Capital’s Senior Advisor, and Sustainable Events and Marketing Manager, and is supported by the Client Relationship Coordinator.

Key tasks:
• Manage relationships with our business and government partners, and members of our advisory committee in relation to financial support; policy development and advice on event topics
• Assist the subscribers program
• Identify and pursue new targets for partnership and corporate relationships
• Maintain an overview of key government and business policy and research on a range of sustainability issues
• Help prepare submissions and articles on corporate social responsibility and environment sustainability issues and speak to the media
• Develop funding applications for and manage research projects and sustainable staff training
• Assist with planning for the program
• Other duties as directed to assist the TEC exec director to successfully integrate TEC campaigns and green capital program

Location: 89 Jones St, Ultimo, Sydney, NSW.
Salary: $55,300 p.a. pro rata (3 days per week)
