Coconut Citrus Scrub

– You’ll need:
1¼ cups ground sea salt
¾ cup virgin coconut oil
1 orange, rind only
– How to:
Bring the coconut oil to a liquid form (if it’s not already) by placing the container in a bowl of hot water. Zest the orange rind and mix all ingredients together in a bowl before transferring to a 500 ml glass jar.

Honey Olive Scrub

– You’ll need:
½ cup honey
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 cup ground sea salt
– How to:
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl before transferring to a 500 ml glass jar.
Note: the honey and olive oil in this mix tend to separate a little as they sit in the jar. To use, warm up the jar and its contents in warm water and stir first.

Oatmeal Chamomile Scrub

– You’ll need:
½ cup quick oats
½ cup ground sea salt
¼ cup dried chamomile flowers
¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
– How to:
Grind dried chamomile flowers a little using a mortar and pestle – this will help release the oils. Place in a small bowl or jar and cover with the olive oil. Leave for a week or two to infuse the oil. Then mix all ingredients together in a bowl and transfer to a 500 ml glass jar.

Top tip:
To use a scrub, scoop a small amount out of the jar and rub it into your skin all over your body, then wash off the salt in the shower. Salt scrubs tend to be too abrasive for the face. To make a face scrub, switch the salt for sugar granules or oatmeal.
