The Vegie Box includes 26 laminated cards explaining how to grow some of the most popular vegetables, including tomatoes, beetroot, cucumber, broccoli and potatoes.

They tell you when and how to plant, what soil preparation is needed and how to tell when your vegies are ready for harvest.

The kit has a comprehensive handbook of more than 100 pages, with organic growing advice covering topics as diverse as seed raising, transplanting, mulching and fertilising.

Also included is a five-year Gardener’s Diary to help plan your yearly planting schedule and record your successes – and perhaps even your failures, so you know what not to do next year.

The Vegie Box is put together by certified biodynamic farmer Jackie Dargaville from South Gippsland in Victoria, an advocate of reducing the use of chemicals in food farming.

All this growing info is presented in an attractive pine box.
