Sustainable Living Festival

The Sustainable Living Festival is in its 15th year! Taking place in Melbourne, Australia's biggest green festival aims to inspire and empower everyday Australians to accelerate the uptake of sustainable living. This event was the Winner of the City of Melbourne 2012 Award for: Contribution to Sustainability, and last year more than 200,000 people ventured there. The Festival's 'Big Weekend' event at Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne has talks, workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, stalls, films and anything else your environmentally conscious brain could consider.

Where: The Square, Deakin Edge + River Terrace, Federation Square, Melbourne, Vic.
When: 8 - 23 February, 2014. Main Weekend:14 to 16 February, 2014.

After a few years in Sydney, SUSTAIN 2013, the tweaked reinvention of the Organic Expo & Green Show, will be returning to Melbourne. The event promotes all things; certified organic, fair trade & sustainable, green, ethical and allergy conscious.

This year will see Samantha Gowing the Head Chef and Nutritionist at Cabarita Ocean Health Retreat, cooking delicious and healthy recipes on the Demonstration Stage.

Where: Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne, Vic.
When: Saturday 19th October 10am-6pm, & Sunday 20th October 10am-5pm, 2013.

Dubbo City Council is hosting an exhibition that showcases sustainable business/ products to the community. There are no fees for exhibitor sites so it will be a unique opportunity to catch new, green, start-up orginisations. Stalls are encouraged to formally present information on the sustainable aspects of their business, so there will be plenty of inspiration for those looking for a new green project.

Victorian Premier's Sustainability Awards - entries closing soon

The Premier's Sustainability Award is one of the most prestigious environmental awards in Victoria. The deadline for entries in the eleventh year of this award is less than two weeks away. The competition has 8 categories: Innovative Products and Services, Infrastructure and Buildings, Tourism, Education, Environmental Protection, Small and Medium Enterprises, Large Business and Community. If your business is a leader in green innovation and happens to be in Victoria the government recognized competition is a good avenue for exposure and acknowledgement.

When: Before 2pm Monday, July 15 (finalists announced October 22).

The Pyrmont festival of Food, Wine and Art invites you to one of it's main highlights- a one day outdoor festival with live entertainment, over 120 wines from the Mudgee region and a variety of local gourmet foods for tasting. The "Tour de Pyrmont" is a new join-in event that invites you to ride your bike and enter the "art on wheels" competition. There's a cash prize of $500 for the most creatively dressed rider in the theme of GREEN. Judged by bike enthusiast Nell Schofield from 12:30 to 1PM in front of Culture at Work, 6-8 Scott Street, Pyrmont
