If you have a passion for people, the outdoors and camping, then becoming a volunteer Campground Host might just be for you! Often the first point of contact for visitors, Campground Hosts assist the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service rangers by meeting and greeting campers, helping them to settle in and to enjoy their park experience.

Location: Participating campgrounds are located in over ten National Parks across NSW this summer.

Community & Social Development work - Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development

Each year, over 400 young passionate Australians aged 18-30 volunteer to share knowledge and skills across Asia, the Pacific and Africa. The assignments cover a diverse range of sectors including education, environment, gender, governance, health, infrastructure, rural development and trades. There are a range of assignments available in the “Community & Social Development" sector from the link below.

Location: Various locations across Asia, the Pacific or Africa.
Stipend: Paid Volunteer work through living allowances; Training before, during and after your assignment; Medical and emergency support whilst in-country; In-country support to all volunteers whilst on assignment; Flights.
Applications close: 24 February, 2012 (for placements from July 2012).

Organic Agriculture Officer - Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development

The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program places skilled young Australians (18-30) on short-term assignments in developing countries in Asia, the Pacific and Africa. The Institute for the Development of Educational and Ecological Alternatives, Inc. (IDEAS) is an NGO in the Philippines working in integrated community development including sustainable agriculture, cooperative development, community organisation, enterprise development, waste management and alternative education. You will help advocate the concept of organic agriculture at the Farm School and in the community, as an economical, environmentally-friendly and healthy practice. This will be done through the development of the school’s farm, and some extension work with farmers and families of the students.

Location: Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, the Philippines.
Salary: All related vaccinations and travel are paid for, plus a generous living allowance for the 12 month duration of the position.

WaterAid Australia are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to lead and motivate the team in their aim to overcome poverty by enabling the worlds poorest people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. The Chair will have the flair and track record of achievement to inspire and lead a rapidly growing organisation into a challenging and rewarding future. If you have an understanding of international development or the provision of water and sanitation services in the developed or developing world, this would be a distinct advantage. You will need to be a resident in Australia and ideally be an Australian citizen.
