Australians now eat around 190,000 tonnes of meat each year and are amongst the biggest meat eaters in the world. With an average consumption of 120kg per person per annum, according to a report released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, we eat almost three times as much meat as the world average. There are so many reasons to eat less meat: an overwhelming body of research shows that increased plant based eating and lowering your intake of meat is better for your health, the planet and importantly, animals. so sign up, and let those who care know about your progress by blogging, Facebook posting, Tweeting, or posting your delicious vegetarian creations on Instagram.
