National Op Shop Week 2014

National Op Shop Week 2014

Op shop week

24 – 31 August, 2014

Up to 83% of Australian women have clothes in their wardrobe that they have only worn once or twice, but luckily nearly 9 out of 10 women have purchased something from a charity op shop. However, charity op shops still need good quality donations. Making a donation can help op shops from running short of stock. Boosting donations to charity op shops is the aim of the third 'National Op Shop Week'. An initiative of the Do Something charity in partnership with the National Association of Charitable Recycling Organisations (NACRO).

For National Op Shop Week Salvos Stores are bringing the store to you through the creation of their ‘Pop Up Op Shop’. A converted van, powered by eco-friendly solar panels, transforms into a funky fashion store which will be popping up at Martin Place on Monday 25 August from 7.30am to 3.30pm. And as shopping is such hungry work, Salvos Stores will be providing free breakfast baps for everyone between 7.30am – 8.30am. A fashion show will also be staged at lunch time to showcase the vintage and current recycled fashion trends found at local Salvos Stores, perfect for the fashion savvy, budget conscious consumer
