Experience the colourful world of butterflies, moths and plants through the eyes of two of Australia’s finest 19th century female scientific illustrators; Harriet (Hattie) and Helena (Nellie) Scott. Considered the finest examples of the sisters’ work, the paintings feature caterpillars in life-like poses, gorgeous butterflies, native flowers and stunning landscapes. These rarely seen artworks are on display from the Museum’s Archives for the first time in over 100 years!

Where: Australian Museum, 6 College St, Sydney, NSW.
When: 9:30am - 5pm, seven days a week, 3 September - 27 November, 2011. The
exhibition will be open late – until 9pm – on Friday 23 September as part of Art & About Sydney.
Cost: Free with general Museum entry. Adults $12; Child/Concession $6; Child under 5 years Free; Family (2 adults, 2 children) $30; Free for Pensioners and Australian Museum members.
