Talk about coming the raw prawn!!

We now have a new Department of Climate Change report showing that warmer temperatures, changes in currents, rainfall and extreme weather events could devastate Australia's fishing industry - everything from rock lobsters, abalone, prawns and tuna, which account for more than half of our fishing production.

If you don't want to wade through the report, you will find a pretty good summary in the Canberra Times.

The response so far has been mixed. Tasmania's fishing industry has played it down as have fishermen in the Northern Territory.

But there are signs that fishing will be another industry devastated by global warming. And it's likely to have an impact on our menu choices too.
