EcoXpo is Australia’s largest free sustainable living event – held this weekend at the most sustainable park and venue in the country, Prince Alfred Park in Sydney.

Aymeric Maudous founded EcoXpo after an impressive career as a brand marketer for Renault, Disney, and Louis Vuitton, and says it was the result of a shift in his thinking, or what he describes as 'an aha moment’.

“I had resigned from working with Louis Vuitton and I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I promised myself that whatever happened I would listen to my heart,” he says.

“As a child growing up in the south of France, one thing I had in my garden was a tiny rectangle of earth that my parents wouldn’t mow. I would grow anything I could there – little violets and flowers – and ever since I was a kid I’ve been gifted with plants.”

“I knew I needed to get back to that feeling I had when I was a child and do something for the earth.”

Inspired by his sister’s pregnancy, Maudous initially founded the Eco Baby Expo event in 2010, which was hit by torrential rain that rendered it a disaster.

“Even though my first event was not a success I knew deep inside I was on the right track and that I had to persevere,” Maudous says. “Six months later I launched EcoXpo and the response was excellent.”

Madous says he now realises how important it is to cherish and honour the moment when you know you need to do something that makes sense only to you.

“It is a little seed that will grow.”

EcoXpo encapsulates a philosophy of wellbeing for all, and presents the best in eco and sustainable products and services – including organic food, gardening, building materials, and clothing.
