Temporary Full Time (3 years)

About the role:
The Flying-fox Management Officer is responsible for effectively contributing to the formulation and delivery of natural resource management programs and projects that support the Regional Flying-fox Management Plan (SCRFFMP).

About you:
You’ll have demonstrated knowledge of wildlife ecology, biology, population dynamics and related ecological processes, which will be reflected when interpreting and applying applicable legislation, particularly relating to the implementation of the SCRFFMP, and when supporting the implementation of flying-fox research and monitoring programs.

Your well developed written and verbal communication skills will enable you to provide effective responses to public inquiries, media updates, progress reports and when developing information packages.

Additionally, you will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience in managing wildlife related issues.

Experience in contemporary wildlife management practices, survey/monitoring methodologies and techniques would be an advantage.
