Public Relations and Promotions Coordinator

Taronga Western Plains Zoo is the incumbent Australian Tourism Award winner for best attraction, and NSW Tourism Award winner for Best Attraction and Unique Accommodation.

Taronga is looking for an experienced, focussed and motivated Public Relations and Promotions Coordinator who is interested in joining a leading organisation in conservation and animal care which offers amazing visitor experiences.

About the role ...

Taronga is committed to conservation - creating direct and positive connections between wildlife and people. This role is integral to creating and maintaining those connections. You will work with news media organisations to produce coverage of the Zoo and activities. Photography and video editing skills are key, as you will also produce multipurpose material to occupy the Zoo’s digital presence. You will also work closely with the Promotions and PR Manager to deliver a diverse range of marketing and promotional activities including events and launches.

About you ...

You will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Media Relations, Professional Communications or a relevant discipline, or equivalent media experience.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to generate information and key messaging to a range of stakeholders.
• Photography and video editing skills.
• Sound understanding of, and experience working with, social media.
• Experience in co-ordinating and planning events.
• Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
• NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
