Environment Co-ordinator, A national industry body

A national industry body is seeking an Environment Coordinator to coordinate all activities associated with a rural industry-focused environmental program, including performance against contract milestones and Program promotional activities. The role will be based in Adelaide and would be well-suited to marketing and communications graduate who is keen to promote the benefits of being a member of this well-respected program.

The Environment Coordinator needs to stay informed of environmental issues, maintain relationships with key stakeholders, increase the program membership base and monitor the media for publicity opportunities. Experience in environmental matters is not a prerequisite so long as the candidate exhibits the willingness and enthusiasm to learn on the job.

Program marketing / promotional activities:
• Maintain the environment section of the website.
• Communicate best practice environmental management principles widely within the industry.
• Ensure regular contact with members through email updates, face-to-face and telephone contact.
• Coordinate workshops in key rural regions as per contract requirements.
• Collate Program feedback and arrange stakeholder survey as per contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits to encourage new members to sign up and assist existing members to participate in Program assessment.
• Identify and progress opportunities to enhance recognition of the Program by the retail sector and supply chain.
• Identify, further develop and communicate the benefits and value of being a member of the Program through a variety of means.
• Source and write stories for the industry magazine.

Monitor performance against contract milestones:
• Coordinate all activities stated in the contract, ensuring key deliverables and dates are met, such as holding workshops, website upgrades and updates to key Program collateral.
• Monitor the Program budget to ensure that activities are within budget under oversight of the Manager.

Stakeholder relations:
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Committee under the oversight of the Manager.
• Progress action items from committee meetings.
• Participate in relevant environmental based Australian Government enquiries or industry projects that relate to R&D.

Publicity:
• Monitor relevant environmental news stories and developments for response.
• Write and distribute media releases.
• Promote industry / stakeholder workshops.

The successful candidate should be well-organised and multi-talented with an eye for detail. High energy levels and enthusiasm to get 'rungs on the board' is key.

Excellent time-management skills are imperative and you should take constructive criticism well.

The role will suit those with a marketing or communications degree, or with related experience / qualifications.

Recent graduates or those with 2-5 years experience are encouraged to apply.
