The Canberra Environment Centre’s vegetarian cooking workshop present an opportunity for vegetarians and those looking to make the switch to share ideas and learn more skills and knowledge and look for cooking inspirations.

Learn how to create a range of native, palatable delights, mix drinks with Australian botanicals and grow indigenous edible plants in your own backyard while indulging in a two-course seasonal lunch at the Merri Table Cafe. The day includes a native edibles talk and tour, lunch and canapes, a cooking demonstration, three matched alcoholic beverages and some native seedlings to take home and enjoy. As part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, Justin McPhail and chef Lee Bryant are showcasing their 'bush tucker' skills by putting together a six course vegetarian degustation using ingredients they have foraged from the wild.
Gathered from the Central Victorian forests, the various plants and flowers will contribute to a menu that will display some of the areas indigenous plants and natural produce that the area has to offer, including the small vanilla lily, river mint and manna gum.
