Winter Events
Night talks, walks, show-and-tell and even an overseas adventure! All of these and more are available thanks to the Australian Museum Members over the coming months, with a range of events catering for all ages and interests. From convict stories to photography and even a look at outer space, winter looks set to host a range of activities to engage, educate and entertain every member of the family.

Ocean Love

Take 3 present 'Ocean Love', an event to raise awareness and funds to protect and care for ocean life, complete with music, movies and more! Mat Mchugh, former frontman for The Beautiful Girls will play the first set at the event with his new outfit Mat Mchugh & The Seperatista Soundsystem, followed by the feature film 'Minds in the Water'. This amazing film is about pro surfer Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich and his endless efforts to protect cetaceans (whales & dolphins) from human harm. Third up on the night is a screening of the newish Taylor Steele surf film 'Here & Now' that documents a day in the life of surfers around the world including Kelly Slater, Machado, Rasta & Steph Gilmore. There will also be a bumper raffle on the night including a one-year subscription to Green Lifestyle, signed surf pics of Rasta, autographed Taylor Steele surf films, a wooden 'Surfie' bellyboard by Tom Wegener, bamboo sunglasses from Topheads Eyewear and loads of sustainable products ReChusable to give away.

Sydney Bike Festival

Did you know the amount of bike traffic in Sydney grew 82% over 2010-2012?
We sure love our bikes.

To celebrate this, the Spokes People present two weeks of exciting bike events for this year's Sydney Bike Festival. Sydney's diverse bike riding culture including families, lycra clad racers and thrifty commuters, are all invited to come along.

The festival will kick of in Taylor Square on Saturday the 13th of October with a street fair. Other events running over the two weeks include a street art exhibition, Halloween fun ride, Bicycle Film Festival and the crowd pleasing Gold Sprints event.
