Clean Up Australia Day is a simple way you can take action to clean up, fix up and conserve our prized Australian environment.

In 2012 an estimated 591,400 volunteers cleaned up 16,169 tonnes at 7,363 sites right across Australia. But we can do better! So be a good sport and join the team to Clean Up Australia on Sunday, 3 March 2013.

Clean Up Australia is also running separate clean up days for schools and businesses, to be held on the days prior.

Want to take part? Simply register at, then get a group together to clean up a specific site where you think litter is a problem. After you have completed your collection, the local council will come around to pick up the bags-easy!

Join in and make Australia a more beautiful place to live!
