Five years after reaching the finals of the first ever Masterchef series, outspoken foodie Michelle Darlington is putting compassion, kindness and inspiration on the menu at an inaugural TED-style boutique gathering set to take place this Wednesday in Potts Point. Six empowering change makers will reveal the most inspiring moments of their lives at the “Aha Moment” – Seeds of Inspiration Worth Planting event presented by Darlington’s socially responsible Seed It Up – an organic seed company supporting the Grow Your Own food movement.

Where: Tusculum House, 3 Manning Street, Potts Point, Sydney, NSW.
When: 6:30 – 7pm (for mingling and canapés), 7:15 – 9pm (for talks), Wednesday 29 October, 2014.
Cost: Part proceeds of this event go to 'The Carevan Foundation' – feeding the homeless in rural Australia. Tickets are $50 + $3.99 booking fee.

Ever thought about swapping your usual commute to work with an invigorating bike ride, or need a bit of encouragement to hop back on after the chilly winter months? Then give the National Ride2Work Day a go. More than 15,000 workers across the country are expected to steam to work under pedal power on the day. Join those celebrating a long held love of the bicycle or be among those discovering the health benefits of a good cycle.

If you’re in the Melbourne area and want to use pedal power to help those in need, take part in Bupa Around the Bay – Ride for a Child in Need. It will be held on Sunday 19 October, and there are varying distances around Port Phillip Bay so all ages and abilities can take part.

Where: Community events and breakfasts are being held nationwide on Ride2Work Day.
